Steve Meadows
Steve Meadows was elected State
Attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit of Florida in November,
2004. He took office on January 4, 2005.
Steve, 50 years old, is a native and life-long resident of the
Florida panhandle. He is the proud father of three daughters:
Meagan, Jenny, and Kristen.
After attending area public schools, Steve enlisted in the
United States Army and served in the 101st Air Assault Division
and the U.S. Army Aviation Center. From there, it was on to the
Panama City Police Department and Bay County
Sheriff’s Office.
During his time as a uniformed law enforcement officer, Steve
attended classes at night and on weekends, and graduated from
Florida State University, magna cum laude, with a bachelor of
science degree in criminology. He later went on to graduate with a Juris Doctor degree.
After law school graduation, Steve served the public as a
prosecuting attorney for 15 years. While in the State Attorney’s Office, Steve was
assigned nearly 6,000 cases.

Since taking office, Steve has been a
frequent speaker for civic clubs, law enforcement groups, and
other organizations. “I enjoy what we do and I enjoy talking
about what we do,” Steve says. “There are thousands of great
people in these six counties and getting the chance to meet
those folks is a great benefit of this job.”
